New Delhi: Bollywood’s original Khiladi, Akshay Kumar has a jammed packed 2017 with as many as four projects to work upon. The superstar had announced his major releases during New Year’s time and the fans couldn’t be happier.

Akki will next be seen in wifey Twinkle Khanna’s maiden production venture titled ‘Padman’. The film is based on the real-life incident of Arunachalam Muruganantham—the man whose initiative to invent low-cost sanitary pad making machines in rural India helped not only his wife but other women in his village to lead a hygienic life.

Akshay took to Twitter and shared the first glimpse of his journey which has kickstarted today. He captioned the image as: “Embarking on a new journey, this time with the Mrs. First day of @mrsfunnybones’ #Padman directed by R. Balki, need ur love & luck as always.”

‘Padman’ will be produced by Akki’s better half Twinkle Khanna, making it her maiden production venture and will be helmed by R Balki. Now, the leading ladies too have been finalised. Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte will play important roles in the film.

Interestingly, Twinkle had mentioned about the story of ‘Padman’ aka Arunachalam in the final short story titled ‘The Sanitary Man from A Scared Land’ in her second novel ‘The Legend of Lakshmi Prasad’.
